Police remove protesting students from Madras varsity campus

The city police has removed a group of protesting students of the University of Madras from the campus and closed all the gates, said a student. The students were protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

The action, as per the student happened on Wednesday late night.

“The police took all the protesting students in their vans to the nearby Triplicane police station and asked us to go to our homes. The police had asked us to come inside the station which we resisted,” A.T. Elakkiyan, a second year M.A. political science student, told.
