Praying for good rainfall, crop production and welfare of humanity at large, the Danvantri Arogya Peedam of Walajapet is organising a special pooja marking its 15th anniversary and founder and peetadipadhi, Muralidhara Swamigal’s 58th jayanthi, from 13 March to 17 March. Yagnasri Muralidhara Swamigal, the Founder and Managing Trustee of Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam organizing , “Sahasra kalasabishekam and shodasha thirukalyana mahotsavam have been scheduled to take place. This year, the thirukalyanam is the pooja that everyone would be looking forward to attend to as we are doing it for 16 gods which is a first-of-its-kind.” The festivities will see thirukalyanam of gods from the six sects – Saivam, Vainavam, Shaktam, Sowram, Kowmaram and Ganapathyam. “On 13 March, to neutralise the doshas and receive blessings from the Gods above, Gomatha thirukalyanam, and for the welfare of married people, 108 sumangali pooja and samashti upanayanam will take place between 9 am and 2 pm,” .The following day will see tulsi and nelli plant thirukalyanam to invoke the blessings of Mahavishnu and Mahalakshmi upon everyone and to neutralise curses, said the swamigal. Hundred and eight kanya pooja will also happen from 6.30 am to 1.30 pm. On 15 March, the thirukalayanam will take place for neem and peepal tree wishing for good natural resources, rain and the like and for the total welfare of family and 108 thambathi pooja will take place from 6.30 am to 2 pm. On 16 March, from 10.30 am to 1 pm, Maha Danvantri Yagam for Lord Danvantri will take place in the presence of 600 artistes from the villages showcasing traditional music performance and Srinivasa thirukalyanam, Chaturveda parayanam will take place from 5 pm to 7.30 pm. On the concluding day, the 16 celestial weddings will take place from 9 am to 11 am at one go. Swamigal’s jayanthi is also planned to happen on the last day.
