A tragic incident unfolded in a glass-making factory located in Poonamallee, as a 27-year-old worker lost his life while handling glass on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Amrish Kumar, hailing from Bihar, was part of a team involved in unloading glass materials from a truck originating from Puducherry.
A large glass piece fell on him during the process, causing severe injuries to his neck. Despite being rushed to the Poonamallee Government Hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The Nazarethpet police have initiated a case in connection with the accident and have taken several officials from the private glass factory into custody for further investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest a shortage of workers and inadequate safety measures during the glass-shifting process. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
