Woman saree walkathon for National Handloom Day in London
Around 500 women will participate in a saree walkathon in London to celebrate National Handloom Day on August 7 and raise awareness about Indian handloom. The event, organized by the British Women In Saree group and supported by Inspiring Indian Women, will see women donning sarees representing different states of India.
They will walk past iconic landmarks in London, starting from Trafalgar Square and passing through historic places like 10 Downing Street before reaching Parliament Square in Westminster. The walkathon aims to showcase the beauty and diversity of Indian handloom and its cultural significance.
