The incident, which occurred during the evening peak hour at 6:45 p.m., led to security personnel promptly alerting the control room, resulting in the disconnection of electricity and preventing a potential tragedy.
The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) reported a 15-minute disruption of Metro services on the Purple line. The woman, assisted by a co-passenger, safely returned to the platform after retrieving her phone, and BMRCL staff had to reset safety devices for service restoration.
