Residents in Chennai’s Anna Nagar, Valasaravakkam, Teynampet, and Kodambakkam zones are set to face a two-day disruption in piped water supply from 7 a.m. on November 17 to 7 p.m. on November 18. The temporary halt is necessary to facilitate interconnection work on water pipelines at Koyambedu Kaliamman Koil Street and Arcot Road by Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
During this period, water distribution stations in Choolaimedu and Valluvarkottam will cease operations. Notably, localities such as T. Nagar, West Mambalam, Arumbakkam MMDA Colony, Choolaimedu, Gopalapuram, Nungambakkam, and Ashok Nagar will be affected.
Chennai Metrowater has advised residents to store water in advance and utilize online booking services for water tankers for immediate requirements. While piped water supply will be halted, street supply will be maintained to tail-end areas and households without water connections.
