Van fell into a lake at Uthiramerur, and 11 injured

Eleven people sustained minor injuries after a van they were traveling in fell into a lake at Porpandal near Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district on Monday. The van was carrying workers, including 10 women, from Seethanakavur village to Padappai.

At around 7 a.m., the driver, Sivanandam, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into the shallow waters of the lake. The trapped workers shouted for help, prompting nearby villagers to break the van’s glass windows and rescue them. The Salavakkam police have registered a case regarding the incident.
