Urgent Aid Needed for Landslide-Stricken Vilangad in Kozhikode

In Kozhikode’s Vilangad village, over 200 families stranded by recent landslides are in desperate need of food supplies, relying heavily on a struggling help desk run by the Vanimel grama panchayat.

The devastation from the June 30 landslides has left grocery shops empty and disrupted essential services, including power and transportation, with significant infrastructure damage such as the destruction of 15 bridges and numerous houses. Relief efforts are ongoing, with over 800 individuals housed in relief camps, but additional public support is critical to meet the immediate needs. Local authorities, including the District Collector, are actively assessing the situation to implement further aid measures.
