UNRWA Accuses Israeli Army of Targeting School Shelter in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has accused the Israeli army of directly targeting one of its schools converted into a shelter in the Gaza Strip. The school in Beit Lahia was reportedly hit, and three other UNRWA schools serving as shelters in Gaza City and central Gaza were indirectly impacted.

The agency also reported the killing of two of its employees by the Israeli army, bringing the total death toll of its employees to 132 since the conflict began in early October. With over 1.9 million people displaced in Gaza, UNRWA called for a humanitarian ceasefire to address the dire situation, including the risk of closing a large hospital in southern Gaza due to a lack of supplies and staff shortages.
