Residents of west Belagavi were surprised on March 1 as they witnessed a wild elephant leisurely grazing along the roadside. Forest officials and local police swiftly intervened, halting traffic to ensure the elephant’s safety. Spectators gathered at a distance, captivated by the majestic sight.
The elephant’s journey from Kakati forest to the Kowad jungle via villages like Alataga and Uchagaon sparked both excitement and concern among locals, particularly farmers fearing damage to sugarcane fields. However, the elephant continued its peaceful trek, veering towards Uchagaon without causing any harm.
