The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) staged a walkout from the Kerala Legislative Assembly, protesting the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s failure to allocate adequate Plus One seats in six districts of North Kerala. IUML legislator N. Samsudheen highlighted the disparity in seat availability between Malappuram and Pathanamthitta, emphasizing the hardships faced by students in northern districts.
Accusing the government of neglect and financial mismanagement, Samsudheen called for reallocation of vacant seats from southern districts to the underserved northern regions. Education Minister V. Sivankutty countered the claims, leading to a heated debate that culminated in the Opposition’s walkout following the denial of an adjournment debate.
