U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Chinese and Belarusian Firms for Missile Component Supply to Pakistan
The United States has imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies and one from Belarus for supplying missile-applicable items to Pakistan’s ballistic missile programmes. The sanctioned companies are Xi’an Longde Technology Development, Tianjin Creative Source International Trade, and Granpect Co. Ltd and Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. According to the State Department, these entities have materially contributed to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by Pakistan.
The Chinese companies provided missile-related equipment and machinery, including filament winding machines and stir welding equipment, to Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile programme. Similarly, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant in Belarus supplied special vehicle chassis for Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile programme.
