Typhoon Doksuri Brings Heavy Rainfall and Flooding to North China

Impacted by the fifth typhoon of the year, Typhoon Doksuri, regions in north China, including Beijing, Hebei, and Shandong, experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday. Doksuri made landfall in east China’s Fujian Province on Friday morning, bringing powerful winds and intense rainfall. Afterward, it moved to Jiangxi Province, where it gradually weakened into a tropical storm.

The meteorological bureau of Beijing issued a warning of heavy downpours from Saturday night to Tuesday next week, with an orange alert for rainstorms being issued across the city. The provincial meteorological bureau upgraded the red alert for rainstorms for the next three days on Saturday morning, and a joint alert for mountain torrents was issued by the provincial water conservancy department and meteorological bureau.

The region remains on high alert for potential flooding and impacts on transportation and infrastructure due to the continuous heavy rainfall caused by Typhoon Doksuri.
