Trainee Sailor from Kerala Dies by Suicide in Mumbai

Aparna Nair, a 20-year-old woman trainee sailor from Kerala undergoing navy training at INS Hamla in Malad, Mumbai, was found dead in a women’s hostel in Malvani, Malad West. The police suspect suicide, citing personal reasons as a possible motive. Nair, who had come to Mumbai for training, was staying in a private hostel with other trainees.

According to her roommate, Nair did not respond when she returned to the room on Monday morning. After breaking open the door, they discovered Nair’s body. The police have registered an accidental death report, and investigations are ongoing.
