In a tragic incident in Hubballi, a 20-year-old girl named Anjali Ambiger was stabbed to death in her own house by a youth identified as Girish Sawanth (21) on Wednesday morning. Anjali had reportedly rejected Girish’s proposal for marriage, which led to the fatal attack. According to eyewitnesses, Girish entered Anjali’s house early in the morning and, after she refused to go with him, he stabbed her multiple times with a knife.
Anjali, who was living with her grandmother, had previously reported Girish’s advances to the police, but he remained untraceable. The police have launched a manhunt for the accused, who is also a resident of Veerapur Oni.
