A series of devastating accidents have occurred in various parts of Chennai, raising grave concerns about railway safety. In Tiruvottiyur, two men from Bihar lost their lives while crossing a railway track, unaware of an oncoming train. Similarly, at Chrompet railway station, B. Sathish and R. Pranav were struck by an express train while walking on the tracks.
The dangers of railway crossings were further underscored at Ponneri railway station, where Chandrasekar and Subramani, both construction workers, were fatally hit by a train while attempting to cross tracks. These incidents emphasize the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and public awareness campaigns regarding railway safety protocols.
