Tragic Incident in Nepal: Buses Swept Away in River, 14 Bodies Recovered

A devastating incident unfolded in Nepal as a swollen river near Simaltal, west of Kathmandu swept away two buses carrying a total of 65 people. Rescuers have recovered 14 bodies so far, with eight of them identified and being returned to their families, including six Indian nationals.

The buses, traveling on a crucial highway, fell into the Trishuli river amid heavy monsoon rains, washing bodies downstream for up to 100 kilometers. Despite extensive search efforts by police and army personnel, the buses remain missing amidst challenging conditions posed by fast-flowing and murky river waters during Nepal’s monsoon season.
