In a tragic incident in Chennai, a 47-year-old electrician, S. Murthy, lost his life while engaged in repairing an electrical fault at a customer’s house on November 9, 2023. The Abhiramapuram police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Murthy, a resident of Valleeswaran Thottam in Mandaveli, suffered an electric shock during the repair work, leading to his untimely demise.
Swift action from the residents saw him rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared ‘brought dead.’ The police, notified of the incident, transported Murthy’s body to the Government Royapettah Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The unfortunate event underscores the occupational hazards faced by professionals in the field and the need for stringent safety measures during repair and maintenance tasks.
