In a tragic incident, a boy who had been in a coma for six years, purportedly due to the administration of an overdose of anesthesia during hernia surgery, passed away in Bengaluru on January 3. The parents filed a complaint with the Banashankari police, seeking action against the doctor involved. The incident dates back to April 2017 when the boy, Vignesh, underwent surgery at a private hospital in Subramanyanagar.
Allegedly, an overdose of anesthesia during the procedure resulted in the boy slipping into a coma. The parents had earlier filed a complaint, claiming their son was administered anesthesia thrice during the surgery, and received compensation from the hospital. They now allege threats from the doctor and hospital management and have lodged a fresh complaint after the child’s demise.
