Tragic Collision Claims Ten Lives in Malaysian Navy Rehearsal

A devastating incident occurred during a rehearsal for a Royal Malaysian Navy parade, resulting in the mid-air collision of two helicopters and claiming the lives of all ten crew members onboard. The accident took place at the Lumut naval base in Perak state, Malaysia, at 9:32 a.m. local time. Seven crew members were aboard the AW139 maritime operation helicopter, while three others were in a Fennec lightweight helicopter.

The collision led to the helicopters crashing in different locations within the naval base, with the AW139 reportedly hitting a sports complex and the Fennec crashing into a swimming pool area. The Royal Malaysian Navy has initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the tragic accident.
