Tragic Accident Near Chennai Claims Pedestrian’s Life; Two-Wheeler Rider Arrested

In a tragic incident near Chennai, a 46-year-old pedestrian, M. Sigamani, lost his life after being fatally knocked down by a two-wheeler near Pazhaverkadu on January 15, 2024. The Thirupalayvanam police swiftly responded by filing a case and apprehending the two-wheeler rider, Muthukumar (24), from Sattankuppam village.

According to a police officer in Tiruvallur district, the unfortunate incident occurred on January 14 as Sigamani was returning home from a local market. The collision resulted in head and body injuries, leading to Sigamani’s immediate hospitalization at Pazhaverkadu government hospital.

However, due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to the Government Stanley Hospital in Chennai for specialized treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
