Tragedy Strikes in Manali as Youth Electrocuted While Erecting Flagpole

In a tragic incident in Chinna Sekkadu near Manali, a 21-year-old youth named A. Elappan was electrocuted while erecting an iron flagpole on Friday. Elappan, a diploma holder employed in a private company, was assisting his uncle Kuppusamy, who was overseeing the flags and banners for a cyclone relief camp organized by the DMK on Padasalai Street.

During the early hours of Friday, as Elappan was erecting a party flagpole, it accidentally came into contact with a high-tension overhead electric cable, causing him to be thrown to the ground. Despite immediate efforts, he succumbed to the electrocution. The Manali police, upon registering a case, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem, initiating further investigation into the tragic incident.
