Tragedy Strikes in Bengaluru: Overhead Water Tank Collapse Claims Two Lives

A devastating incident occurred in Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar area, where an overhead water tank on the fourth floor of a building came crashing down, resulting in the immediate death of two individuals and injuring two others. One of the victims has been identified as 40-year-old Arul, who operated a fast-food cart adjacent to the ill-fated building. The other victim’s identity is yet to be determined.

According to the police, the incident was caused by the weakening of the wall on which the water tank had been placed over time. Consequently, a portion of the building’s wall also collapsed along with the tank. Two injured individuals, one of whom is in a serious condition, have been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The building’s proximity to the Shivajinagar bus terminal and a preliminary investigation suggests that the tank was negligently placed overhead without proper checks. The authorities assure that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine responsibility and hold the guilty parties accountable for this tragic incident.
