Tight Security Measures for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Visit to Ramanathapuram
In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ramanathapuram district, the Tamil Nadu Police have implemented a comprehensive three-tier security plan. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Rameswaram temple and participate in various programs during his two-day stay.
Security measures include stringent protection at the mutt where Modi will stay and around the Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy temple, with the latter being closed to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Coast guard teams have been deployed for sea patrolling, and security is heightened at Dhanushkodi and the Sri Lankan Tamils’ rehabilitation camp in Mandapam. The district collector issued traffic arrangements and declared Rameswaram a drone-free zone for the visit.
