On Monday, three individuals who attempted to break into a private firm in Adyar by breaking the locks of its shutters were arrested. The incident unfolded at around 7 a.m. when it was discovered that the lock of a foreign exchange company on L.B. Road in Adyar had been tampered with, and its contents were scattered. The Shastri Nagar Police Station’s team promptly responded to the scene upon receiving the report and initiated an investigation.
CCTV footage revealed that at approximately 1:30 a.m., three culprits forcefully entered the private company, attempting to break a locker with an iron rod. Failing in their efforts, they made their escape on a two-wheeler. The arrested individuals were identified as M. Sathish alias Karuppasamy (19, Perumbakkam), G. Sathish (19), and S. Sathya alias Sathyanarayanan (19, Kannagi Nagar).
An iron rod and a two-wheeler were confiscated from them. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Sathish alias Karuppasamy had over ten cases, including two murders, four thefts, and three robberies, pending against him, while Satyanarayan was wanted in two theft cases.
