The Highways Department is set to complete the extension of the Thoraipakkam Radial Road, covering an 800-meter stretch that will link Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Canal Bank Road, and eventually the East Coast Road. The final 60-meter section of the road is yet to be laid, with 16 houses obstructing the path recently demolished after a court order in favor of the project.
The remaining portion of the road is expected to be formed within the next two months. Despite the progress, concerns about traffic congestion persist, with the need for a bridge across the Buckingham Canal to facilitate smoother flow still a priority.
