French aerospace giant Thales is set to establish an avionics Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) facility in Delhi, reflecting its commitment to supporting modernization and indigenization efforts in India’s aerospace and defense sector. Thales Vice President and Country Director for India, Ashish Saraf, described this move as a “key initiative” and emphasized Thales’ dedication to fully supporting India’s domestic defense manufacturing.
The company, actively contributing its high-tech capabilities, aims to collaborate with local industries for Make-in-India initiatives. Thales has been integral to the Rafale team, providing advanced equipment and systems for the Rafale fighter jets procured by India. Additionally, Thales is expanding its engineering centers in Bengaluru and Noida and inaugurated a second facility in Bengaluru to enhance its presence in India’s growing defense and aerospace sectors.
