Temporary Respite from Heatwave in Tamil Nadu
Several parts of Tamil Nadu may experience a temporary respite from the searing heat and scorching temperatures as a trough over the south peninsular region is expected to bring rain until Monday. This weather system is likely to lead to a drop in the daily temperature, offering relief to areas grappling with heatwave-like conditions. While some districts have been witnessing temperatures close to or above 40 degrees Celsius, the presence of the trough has resulted in a decrease in temperature levels.
Although rainfall is primarily anticipated in southern parts of Tamil Nadu and coastal districts, isolated areas in northern districts may also receive light to moderate rain on Saturday. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that Chennai’s maximum temperature will hover around 35 degrees Celsius until Saturday before dry weather returns by April 17.
