Temperature Surge Expected Across Tamil Nadu in Coming Days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a rise in temperature by two to three degrees Celsius over parts of Tamil Nadu in the upcoming days, with dry weather prevailing until March 10. On Tuesday, Erode and Salem recorded the highest day temperature at 39.2 degrees Celsius, nearly three degrees above the state average.
This trend is expected to continue for the next two days, leading to warm and uncomfortable conditions in isolated pockets. The IMD’s seasonal outlook for summer forecasts above-normal temperatures during March to May, with the likelihood of warmer nights as well. Additionally, north and north-interior districts may experience up to 15 days of heatwave conditions this summer, according to IMD maps.
