Telangana Governor Commends Akashvani for Promoting Indian Culture
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan praised Akashvani (All India Radio) for its significant role in safeguarding and promoting India’s rich culture and traditions. She spoke at an event in Chennai marking the conclusion of Akashvani’s celebrations for India’s G20 presidency. During the event, prizes were awarded to students from various colleges who had won competitions.
Governor Soundararajan emphasized that Indian culture is not only a way of life but also highly respected in other countries. She also shared an anecdote about Swami Vivekananda’s love and reverence for India after traveling abroad. V. Kamakoti, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IIT-M), urged Akashvani to revive its ‘vadhya vrinda’ series, highlighting the importance of classical music and music lessons in preserving the Indian knowledge system.
The event also included discussions on education initiatives and government subsidy schemes for home ownership.
