With the conclusion of months-long election activities, the Telangana Government is now directing its attention towards preparing a full budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. Initially, a vote-on-account budget of ₹2.75 lakh crore was presented in February, covering expenditures until July end. However, to finalize the budget for the remaining eight months, legislative approval is required.
The delay in the Central Government’s full budget presentation has prompted the state to await clarity on allocations and devolutions before proceeding with its own budget. Despite uncertainties, the state remains committed to fulfilling promises such as crop loan waivers and ensuring uninterrupted implementation of key initiatives.
