Telangana DCA Uncovers Antibiotic Label Fraud

Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) seized antibiotics worth ₹1.33 crore during a raid on Jodas Expoim Private Limited’s facility in Siddipet District. The seized drugs were falsely labeled, claiming to originate from the company’s Indore unit, while investigations revealed Indian Genomix Private Limited in Cherlapally as the actual manufacturer.

The antibiotics, including Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid and Meropenem formulations, were allegedly exported under false labels in October and November 2024. The facility also conducted unauthorized packing, violating the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Samples are under analysis, with further investigations ongoing to address regulatory breaches.
