Telangana DCA Raids Unlicensed Drug Sellers, Seizes ₹1.90 Lakh Worth of Drugs
The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) conducted fresh raids, seizing illegal drugs worth ₹1.90 lakh. In Jangammet, Falaknuma, officials raided a medical shop run by K. Achutha Reddy, uncovering 40 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, anti-diabetic, anti-fungal, and anti-hypertensive drugs, being sold unlawfully without a drug license.
Another raid targeted the Srinivasa Clinic in Kothapet village, Medak district, operated by D. Srinivas, an unqualified practitioner. The officials seized 41 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics and steroids, valued at ₹70,000. The DCA emphasized the potential health risks posed by the indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified individuals. Investigations are ongoing, and actions will be taken by the law.
