Telangana Congress Government to Verify Farming Engagement for Rythu Bharosa Assistance
The new Congress government in Telangana has announced that financial assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme will only be provided to farmers actively engaged in farming. T. Jeevan Reddy, a senior Congress leader and legislator, expressed concerns about landowners receiving benefits under the previous Rythu Bandhu scheme without being involved in agriculture.
The Congress government, as part of its six guarantees, increased the annual financial assistance to Rs 15,000 per acre. Jeevan Reddy stated that the government will ensure that only genuine farmers cultivating their lands receive assistance, and the funds will be credited to their bank accounts by the end of December.
The Congress party aims to provide Rs 7,500 per acre for each crop season, benefiting farmers with Rs 15,000 per acre annually. Additionally, the party has pledged to cover tenant farmers under Rythu Bharosa and provide Rs 12,000 annual financial assistance to agriculture laborers.
