Telangana Congress Chief Assures Farmers of Rythu Bharosa Amid Election Commission Controversy

Amidst controversy over the Election Commission of India (ECI) revoking permission for disbursements under the Rythu Bandhu scheme in Telangana, Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy reassured farmers. Reddy urged farmers not to worry, pledging that if the Congress comes to power, they will receive Rs. 15,000 in their accounts under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Reddy criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Finance Minister T. Harish Rao, alleging their lack of genuine concern for farmers. The ECI’s order, citing Harish Rao’s comments, led to the revocation of Rythu Bandhu’s permissions.

Reddy accused the ruling party of exploiting the scheme for votes and called for a change in leadership for justice to prevail for farmers. The Congress, in response, vowed to provide increased financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa if elected, while the ruling party promised a phased increment to Rs. 15,000 under Rythu Bandhu in its manifesto.
