Telangana Boosts Education Budget and Collaborates with Tata Technologies for ITI Upgrades
Telangana’s Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka unveiled an 11.5% increase in the state’s education budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, raising it to ₹21,292 crore from the previous ₹19,093 crore. This boost underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing educational standards and infrastructure. Key initiatives include a major recruitment drive to fill 11,062 teacher vacancies and a ₹500 crore allocation for university infrastructure improvements.
Telangana has partnered with Tata Technologies Limited to revamp 65 government ITIs into centers of excellence. The collaboration, part of a ₹2,324.2 crore project, aims to introduce new long-term courses and provide modern equipment and expert training, with the government contributing ₹300 crores and Tata Technologies covering the rest through its CSR program.
