Chennai police apprehended a 19-year-old man for attempting to kidnap a seven-month-old baby from her parents near a bus stop on Ambedkar College Road near Pulianthope. The teenager, who was reportedly drunk, grabbed the baby and attempted to flee but was stopped by local residents.
The baby was rescued, and the teenager was handed over to the Pulianthope police. Identified as M. Ajith from Chengalpattu district, he sustained injuries during the rescue and was taken to Government Stanley Hospital for treatment before being handed over to the Otteri police station for further investigation.
