Teacher Booked for Allegedly Rupturing Student’s Eardrum in Amethi
A government school teacher in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, has been booked for allegedly thrashing a Class 9 student, resulting in a ruptured eardrum. The incident occurred during an English class when the 13-year-old student, Anirudh, was reportedly talking.
The teacher, Shiv Lal Jaiswal, allegedly became infuriated and started hitting the boy, continuing even after the student pleaded that blood was coming out of his ear. Anirudh was later examined by a doctor, who confirmed the eardrum rupture.
The local police have registered an FIR against the teacher, and further action will be taken after statements are obtained from the school’s principal, teacher, and students, according to SHO Arun Kumar Dwivedi. A ruptured eardrum can lead to hearing loss and susceptibility to infections.
