K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, the newly elected MLA from Undi, has filed a complaint with Guntur’s Superintendent of Police, accusing the Andhra Pradesh CID of third-degree torture during his custody.
Raju, who left the YSR Congress Party before the elections, claimed he was falsely arrested on May 14, 2021, and subjected to brutal physical abuse, including beatings with a rubber belt and lathi, and an attempt to suffocate him. He implicated high-ranking officials and alleged a conspiracy involving falsified medical reports to cover up the injuries. The allegations are currently under investigation by the police.
