Tamil Nadu to Share Insights from International Medical Conference with Union Government and Other States

After the three-day Kalaignar Centenary International Medical Conference on the ‘Future of Medicine,’ Tamil Nadu’s Health Department plans to compile abstracts from speeches and research papers to share with the Union government and State Health Ministries, as announced by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian.

The conference, organized by the Health Department and the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, features 11,000 participants, including 210 speakers and 28 international speakers. Almost 600 scientific research abstracts on various medical themes were submitted for discussion, covering medicine, dental care, nursing, allied health sciences, AYUSH, and rehabilitation sciences.

The Health Minister highlighted the implementation of seven schemes in the last two-and-a-half years, including Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam (MTM), and emphasized the State’s commitment to improving healthcare quality and access. The conference also addressed digitalization in the healthcare sector, with the digitization of medical histories for MTM participants, covering 1.70 crore individuals diagnosed with various health conditions.
