Tamil Nadu Teachers Urge Government to Relieve Them from EMIS Data Upload Duty
The Tamil Nadu Graduate Teachers’ Federation (TNGTF) is urging the state government to designate individuals other than teachers for the task of uploading data on the Educational Management Information System (EMIS). At an executive committee meeting, the federation passed 18 resolutions, also calling for the reinstatement of the old pension scheme as promised in the DMK-led government’s poll manifesto.
Additionally, the TNGTF urged the government to make positions of six teachers in each government high school permanent, expand the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme to all government-aided schools, and increase the recruitment of teachers in schools. They emphasized fixing the teacher-student ratio at 1:20 for primary schools and 1:25 for high schools to benefit students and ease the burden on teachers.
