Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has initiated the distribution of textbooks and notebooks for over 70 lakh students as the new academic year 2024-25 begins. The initiative will provide textbooks to 70,67,094 students, notebooks to 60,75,315 students, and atlases to 8,22,603 students in government and government-aided schools.
Concurrently, the state has launched an Aadhaar enrollment and bank account opening drive to benefit 60 lakh government schoolchildren, simplifying access to scholarships for students in Class IX and Class XI. The government is also setting up hi-tech labs in over 8,000 middle schools, expected to be completed within three months, enhancing the quality of education across the state.
