Tamil Nadu Battles Dengue Surge with Comprehensive Control Measures

Tamil Nadu has reported 6,565 dengue cases between January 1 and July 24, with rising cases in Chennai, Coimbatore, and other districts. Health Minister Ma. Subramanian emphasized ongoing efforts by the Health Department and local bodies to combat diseases like dengue, jaundice, and influenza.

Special medical camps and preventive actions are being implemented statewide, including mosquito control measures with 22,384 temporary workers. Additionally, screening for Nipah virus continues at key points along the Kerala border. The Minister highlighted the importance of immediate medical attention, noting three recent dengue-related deaths due to delayed treatment.
