Taliban Reject Pakistan’s Claim of Afghan Involvement in Attack on Chinese Engineers

The Taliban’s defense ministry dismissed Pakistan’s allegation that Afghans were behind the attack on Chinese engineers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mufti Enayatullah Khorazmim, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of National Defence, stated that blaming Afghanistan for such incidents was an attempt to divert attention from the truth.

The suicide bomb attack in March killed five Chinese engineers and was claimed by the Pakistani Taliban. Khorazmim criticized Pakistan’s security measures, highlighting the vulnerability of the area despite tight security by the Pakistan Army. Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated recently, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of not doing enough to combat militant groups. Pakistan’s military emphasized the security of Chinese nationals working on various projects in Pakistan, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
