The Superintendent of Police, Dinesh Singh, revealed that the accused posed as palmists and tantriks, exploiting women with false promises. The charge sheet, filed under IPC Sections 376 D (gang rape) and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), aims for a speedy trial. The police have written to the district judge for a fast-track proceeding, assigning an officer to monitor day-to-day hearings.
The case is bolstered by exhibits, eyewitness testimonies, and a medical report, with the Forensic Science Laboratory’s assistance sought for swift conviction. Barabanki Police emphasizes their commitment to expeditious justice, citing previous cases where convictions were secured within 54 to 70 days in crimes against women.
