Accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, was granted bail by the Taliparamba Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in a defamation case filed by CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan.
The case stems from a Facebook post where Suresh alleged that Govindan offered her ₹30 crore to retract allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. Despite previous failures to appear in court, Suresh presented herself following a warrant.
