Swapna Suresh Granted Bail in Defamation Case Against CPI(M) Leader

Accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, was granted bail by the Taliparamba Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in a defamation case filed by CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan.

The case stems from a Facebook post where Suresh alleged that Govindan offered her ₹30 crore to retract allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. Despite previous failures to appear in court, Suresh presented herself following a warrant. The court scheduled the next hearing for June 26, as the legal battle continues amidst the broader context of the gold smuggling scandal.
