Supreme Court Extends Protection to K. Kavitha in Delhi Excise Policy Scam Probe

In the ongoing investigation into the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, the Supreme Court granted an extension until March 13 to Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K. Kavitha, shielding her from coercive measures by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This decision follows the ED’s summons issued to Kavitha on February 21, which she did not comply with.

The ED alleges her involvement in a liquor cartel, accused of providing a ₹100 crore kickback to Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party. The apex court initially granted protection to Kavitha on February 5, as she sought to restrain the ED from summoning her during the ongoing legal proceedings.
