The Supreme Court has granted a six-month extension to the interim medical bail of former Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik in an alleged money laundering case. The bench, comprising Justices Bela M. Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal, approved the extension, noting that Malik is still suffering from chronic kidney ailments.
The interim bail was initially granted on medical grounds for two months in August last year and had been extended for three months in the previous hearing. The Enforcement Directorate, which is handling the money laundering case, expressed no objection to the extension of Malik’s bail.
