Supreme Court Dismisses Andhra Pradesh Government’s Plea Against Naidu’s Anticipatory Bail in Inner Ring Road Scam Case
On January 29, the Supreme Court rejected the plea of the Andhra Pradesh Government challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in Road scam case. The case revolves around the manipulation of the master plan of Amaravati’s capital city, Inner Ring Road alignment, and seed capital to allegedly provide undue enrichment to various companies during Naidu’s tenure as Chief Minister.
The bench, consisting of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta, cited a previous dismissal of an appeal related to the same FIR involving other accused, stating that they were not inclined to entertain the state government’s appeal.
