Supreme Court Defers Hearing on Chandrababu Naidu’s Anticipatory Bail in FiberNet Scam Case
The Supreme Court deferred the hearing on a plea filed by TDP supremo and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seeking anticipatory bail in the alleged FiberNet scam. The bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi decided to take up the matter on November 30, indicating that it may deliver its verdict post Diwali break on a similar plea filed by Naidu seeking the quashing of criminal proceedings in an alleged skill development case.
The Andhra Pradesh CID had earlier assured the Supreme Court that it would not arrest Naidu until the next date of listing in the FiberNet case. The interim relief will continue until the next hearing. Naidu is accused of playing a key role in the AP FiberNet scam during the TDP government in the state.
